The Travelling Gavel has GONE!!
Abbey Lodge 2529 claimed the Travelling Gavel on Thursday, 17 January 2025 from The Lodge of Perseverance, No. 345 that meets at Darwen Masonic Hall who had themselves quite recently claimed the Travelling Gavel.
Imagine the Abbey Lodge’s surprise when the Worshipful Master of Keep Lodge of Clitheroe along with 4 of his brethren visited Abbey Lodge’s February meeting to claim the Travelling Gavel for themselves.
Our photograph shows the Travelling Gavel being handed over to its new custodians.
Well done to the Keep Lodge party visiting in such numbers to such an effect.
The Travelling Gavel was presented to Horizon Lodge No. 8948 by visiting Masons from Savannah, Georgia in 2002.
Since then it has been around the Northern Area of the Province.
