Beetle Drives have been a staple Abbey Lodge social evening for some time now.
We might have done a Bingo Night in the past too!
What we haven’t done before is a short Beetle Drive followed by a quick Bingo session all on the same night.
That’s what happened on Saturday 12 October 2024 at Whalley Masonic Hall AND there was a new twist on supper – a ‘Grazing Table’. All this was the idea of the Lodge’s new Worshipful Master, Brother Mostafa Ahmadi-Khattir (aka MAK to everyone) and his lovely lady Kate.
The social room was packed and the majority were young families with lots of energy. 6 hectic and loud games of Beetle were followed by a super supper from the Grazing Table then a more peaceful 3 games of Bingo with each winner receiving £10 cash prize. At the end of the evening each new Raffle ticket drawn out of the drum was done by a queue of youngsters eager to help.
Lots of fun for all ages and over £350 raised for worthy causes. Congratulations to MAK & Kate. BRILLIANT event!!
