W. Bro. Andrew P. Thornton
Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies
W. Bro. Thornton was initiated into Ormerod Lodge No. 5713 in January 1999 and was Worshipful Master of that Lodge in 2003-04.
In 2006 he was appointed to the Burnley and Pendle District Team as Communications Officer, a position he held for 2 years before being promoted to Deputy District Chairman in 2008 and 5 years later became the District Chairman, a position he held until 2018.
In 2007 he was appointed to Provincial Grand Steward and in 2008 to Past Provincial Senior Grand Deacon. In 2009 he was promoted to Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer and again in 2013 to Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden.
When Ormerod Lodge closed in 2015 W. Bro. Thornton joined Abbey Lodge. In November that year he was promoted to Provincial Junior Grand Warden for the Province of East Lancashire and in 2017 received Grand Lodge rank of Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies.
