W. Bro. Rennie Wellock
Past Assistant Grand Superintendent of Works
W. Bro. Wellock was initiated into Abbey Lodge on the 13 November 1969, was passed on the 12 February 1970 and raised on the 12 March 1970.
He became Worshipful Master of Abbey Lodge in 1974 and was appointed Provincial Grand Steward in 1979.
In May 1982 he was promoted to Past Provincial Senior Grand Deacon and in the same year was appointed Chair of the District Charity Stewards.
In October 1984 he became Deputy Chair of the Rossendale District, becoming Chair in 1987 and remained in this Office until 1993.
In May 1987 he was promoted again to Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden and became a Grand Officer in April 1990, being appointed Past Assistant Grand Superintendents of Works.
He was a founder member of Valleys Lodge of Installed Masters and Huntroyd Chapter of Past Z’s. He was a Grand Officer of Supreme Grand Chapter. W. Bro. Wellock held many Offices in Abbey Lodge being an example and inspiration to its members.
Before resigning from Abbey Lodge he joined Whalley Arches Lodge which is a daytime Lodge. On 9 March 2020 he celebrated 50 years in Freemasonry at a meeting of Whalley Arches.
