Two Members with 50 years in Freemasonry

Jim Sutcliffe and Nigel Bramley-Haworth 50 years each!

We are really pleased to see an Honorary Member of Abbey Lodge 2529 celebrate 50 years membership in Freemasonry.

Very Worshipful Doctor Nigel Graham Bramley-Haworth, Past Grand Swordbearer, Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master celebrated this magnificent achievement at the 12 February 2025 meeting of Bank Terrace with King Oswald Lodge No. 462 at the Masonic Hall in Accrington. This was attended by many of his friends and peers and a complete Provincial delegation with Right Worshipful Brother Robert Ian Frankl, the Provincial Grand Master at its head. The Provincial Senior and Junior Wardens replaced the Lodge Wardens and the Provincial Grand Master accepted the Master’s gavel.

Worshipful Brother Peter Hargreaves, a long time friend of Nigel gave an outline of Nigel’s life and career which was followed by a very informal chat between the PGM and the celebrant on seats facing each other on the floor of the Lodge.

An illuminated certificate was presented to Nigel before he was escorted around the Lodge to a thunderous acclamation by everyone in attendance.

Nigel was presented with a 50 Year pin badge by the Area Chairman.

The Festive Board followed in a similar vain with another long term Masonic friend giving another moving address.

At the end of the evening in typical Nigel style he positioned himself at the exit to the function room to hug or shake the hand of all who had attended this most memorable occasion.

Congratulations, Nigel on reaching this magnificent Masonic milestone. Worthy Mason He.
