Worshipful Master 2026

On Thursday, 14th May 2026 Worshipful Brother Andrew Duncan was Installed in the Master Chair of Abbey Lodge, 2529 of Whalley with due ceremony. In attendance was Worshipful Brother Dr Simon Kenneth Archer, Past Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies, Assistant Provincial Grand Master.
Lancashire’s ‘Little Gem’ of a Lodge Room was full to capacity to witness the occasion. The Installing Master, W.Bro Tony McHugh was up to his usual high standard when it came to the actual ceremony and was complemented subsequently for his efforts.
After a toast to the newly Installed Master in the Festive Board room the Festival of St. John was held at Whalley Golf Club amongst the trophy boards adorned with past Abbey Lodge members such as Arthur Longworth and Dr. J M Postlethwaite. A chance meeting with the Golf Club Captain, Martin Whipp enabled a sharing of joint history between Lodge and Golf Club.
The Master’s Song delivered with much aplomb by W.Bro Alan Holderness was well received and allowed Masonic traditions to be explained to the gentlemen (non-masons) present.
We wish our new Worshipful Master every success during his year in Office and look forward to his planed social calendar with eager anticipation.
